Mission statement

At Ely Methodist Church we seek to fulfil our calling as followers of Jesus Christ in worship, witness and welcome:

Ely Methodist Church is the largest in the circuit and the circuit office is located on the first floor of our church.  It is situated on Chapel Street but can also be accessed from St. Mary’s Street car park via a gate in the rear wall.  The interior of the church has been completely renovated with moveable, comfortable seating and a light and airy feel which adds to the warm welcome offered by the church community.  In addition to the main worship room, there are a range of flexible meeting rooms on two floors and well-equipped kitchens.  After dark, the glass-panelled doors reveal the focal point of an illuminated cross to be seen by all those passing.   During the colder winter months we worship in the New Room, the large function room on the St Mary's Street side of our church, to save on the financial and environmental cost of heating.

In addition to our Sunday worship we hold a range of mid-week meetings with bible study, house group and prayer groups and a range of occasional events.  We regularly hold coffee mornings and other events to support church funds, the current church charity and other charities.   A number of community and youth groups also use our premises during the week.  We welcome anyone to come and meet our friendly church community - all are welcome at our services.

Children

Children and young people of all ages are welcome at our services and at other combined church events. Our Church members are actively involved with local schools, pre-schools and in the community. For any enquiries, please contact any of our church stewards.
