. Saturday March 7th will be another Desert Island Discs afternoon at Soham, with myself in the unlikely role of castaway (I don’t think I’d survive a week!) On Friday March 20th, just before Mothering Sunday, we’ll have a Member’s Evening at Ely, with your favourite readings for that time of year. On Saturday April 4th at Soham, Mike Hills will tell us about Country Life, Bombs and Guinea Pigs: don’t ask me; you’ll have to come to find out!Friday April 4th 7.30 at Ely - Rev Catherine Dixon `How did I get here`. Friday May 8th at Ely craft evening with Bruce and Margaret Frost. Friday May 22nd at Haddenham 7.30pm. Hospital Chaplaincy - Mavis Middleton

We’ve thought long and hard about when best to hold our meetings, to make it as easy as possible for people to come. We hope we’ve got it right! You can be sure of a warm welcome whenever you come.

Ahtutu  which in the Myanmar language means ‘together’.

This charity works together with and through a local Myanmar NGO (non-governmental organisation) to support all young people in need in South West Myanmar, irrespective of religion or ethnicity. It offers English tutoring and works with a local orphanage, schools and with women in prison supporting them and running a personal hygiene projects.

Mary Durkacz, who lives in Ely, first went to Myanmar (the country known as Burma until 1989) in January 2014 to teach English.  She raised more than $1800 for flood relief in September 2016 before deciding to make the charity more formal in March 2017.  Having registered with HMRC as a charitable company in January 2018, Ahtutu’s Founder-Trustee worked with a small team to ensure that Ahtutu became UK Registered Charity 1182338 on 5th March 2019. More information about this charity can be found at
